Kestrel
Shot Insights works with Kestrel weather devices so you can use current conditions instead of typing them by hand. That is especially useful when temperature, pressure, humidity, or wind can change during a session.
Connect a Kestrel device
Section titled “Connect a Kestrel device”- Open Sensors.
- Start a scan for nearby devices.
- Select your Kestrel or Kestrel Drop when it appears.
- Confirm the device is saved and showing current readings.
- Return to a ballistic tool and verify the solution is using the connected weather.
Why use Kestrel
Section titled “Why use Kestrel”- It saves time compared with manual entry.
- It keeps weather current while you shoot.
- It helps you avoid stale conditions when the day changes quickly.
- Keep the Kestrel near the same conditions you are shooting in.
- If readings stop updating, reopen Sensors and confirm the device is still connected.
- If you are not using a Kestrel, you can still shoot with manual weather or another supported sensor.
